Description

Welchans, George and Hershey, Andrew. History of Lodge No. 43, F. & A. M. of Lancaster, Pennsylvania 1785-1935 with Biographical Sketches of Charter Members, Past Masters and Present Officers together with a complete list of the members of the lodge from its constitution. (Lodge No. 43, Free and Accepted Masons: Lancaster, PA, 1936)

Octavo. xx, 21-438 pages. Bound in Prussian Blue cloth-covered boards stamped in gilt with Lodge emblem centered on front board and short title (150 Years/of/Lodge No. 43/F. & A. M./Lancaster, PA./1785-1935) at head of spine and another version of the lodge logo at the tail of the spine. Facsimiles of many founding documents scattered throughout.

Condition: Some color loss to cover and top of spine.  Bookplate on the front pastedown “Souvenir of the 150th Anniversary of Lodge No. 43, F.&A.M. Lancaster PA.” What appears to be water damage – perhaps caused by the application of the bookplate – has damaged the first endpaper and the following blank page, creating small holes on both, as well as roughness on the pastedown and paper loss on the bookplate. Otherwise, clean and tight.  Hinges and spine tight.
