12mo. 292 pages plus a five page catalog. Hardcover. Bound in green cloth-covered boards stamped in tan, off white and gold. Top edge gilt, tail edge and fore edge roughly cut.

Condition: VG+. Cover and spine is bright and crisp. Minor color loss on rear cover. Light bumping to corners and spine tips. Top inch of front end paper removed. Hinges uncracked. Bottom edge and fore edge darkened. Overall a very nice copy.

 

Harriet Roosevelt Richards (1850-1932) was an American artist and book illustrator. Educated at the Académie Julian in Paris and at the Brandywine School, she was a pupil of Howard Pyle. A member of the New Haven Paint and Clay Club, the American Watercolor Society, and the Art Institute of Chicago, she is remembered today largely as an illustrator of early twentieth-century children’s books. – Good Reads
