Rossell Hope Robbins (1912 (Wallasey, United Kingdom) – 1990 (Saugerties, NY)) was international Professor of English at the State University of New York at Albany.  He specialized in early musical lyrics and verse.  The Rossell Hope Robbins Library was founded at the University of Rochester by a donation of 20,000 volumes in 1989 ” In addition to its holdings in all aspects of Middle English Literature, it also contains holdings in Old English, Anglo-Norman, and medieval French literature; medieval history, philosophy, theology, and art; manuscript studies; witchcraft; and Arthurian and Robin Hood studies.” – Wikipedia
