Small quarto. xxiv, [3], 28-551 pages with frontispiece. Hardcover. Bound in full speckled calf with four raised bands surrounded by gilt rules on spine and black leather label “Wordsworth’s Poetical Works”.  Edge of edges of boards decorated in gilt.

Condition: Good+. Top of spine covering chipped and scratched, extremities rubbed and covers scuffed and stained. Interior foxed throughout.

Henry Reed was a Professor of English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania. He brought this book, the first collected book of Wordsworth’s complete works, out in 1837 and it remained the standard American edition of Wordsworth’s Poems well after the Reed’s death .
