Octavo, 682 pages plus 3 foldout maps. Bound anachronistically in a blue-green publisher’s cloth with an ornate blind-stamped frame on both b
oards. Back-strip has gilt title and ornament and three blocks blind-stamped. Book appearance is similar to those published 50 years previous.
Unusually clean, crisp and tight binding with back-strip slightly bumped both top and bottom and slight bumpinfg on bottom corners of both front and back boards. Gilding is bright and clean. Text-block shows some foxing. All maps present and in good shape. Previous owner’s name, address and date on first free endpaper, bookseller’s label on front paste-down.
